Description

This is a late 19th-century cast iron signpost located at Polmassick in St Ewe. The signpost features a twisted, slightly fluted column topped with a collar and a ball finial. It has two sign-plates with serrated top edges, displaying sanserif lettering in upper case. One sign indicates GORRAN and MEVAGISSEY, while the other shows GRAMPOUND and TRURO, complete with an indicating hand. Additionally, there are two suspended cast iron sign-plates for TREGONEY and ST MAWES. This signpost is one of the few remaining examples of its kind.
