Description

This is a late 19th-century cast iron signpost located at SW 982 461. It features a twisted, slightly fluted column topped with a collar and ball finial. The signpost has three sign-plates, each with a serrated top edge. The lettering is in sans-serif upper case, displaying the names TREGONY and VERYAN, GORRAN with an indicating hand, and MEVAGISSEY and ST AUSTELL with another indicating hand. This signpost is one of the few remaining examples of its type.
