Description
Figsbury is a house that likely dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from rendered and painted stone rubble and features a rag slate roof with gable ends. There is a stone rubble rear lateral stack. The house is situated on a corner site, with both front and side elevations facing the road. It has an overall rectangular plan with a single depth, consisting of two rooms and a cross or through passage arrangement. The larger room on the left is heated by the rear lateral stack, while it is unclear if the smaller room on the right is heated.
The house is two storeys high, with the ground sloping down to the left. The lower left side elevation is symmetrical, featuring two likely 20th-century two-light casements on the ground floor, with a moulded string course above. The corners on the left and right are chamfered, corbelling out with ogee stops that form the echinus of a capital, topped with a moulded abacus. There is a 20th-century two-light casement in the gable end on the first floor.
The asymmetrical front elevation has an entrance located to the right of centre, which includes a 20th-century door and a moulded cornice above supported by decorated corbelled brackets. There are two-light casements to the right and far left, as well as another on the first floor to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
