Description

ALTARNUN ALTARNUN SX 28 SW 4/71 Figsbury - GV II

House. Probably mid C19. Rendered and painted stone rubble. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble rear lateral stack. Plan: Corner site with front and side elevation to road. Overall rectangular plan of single depth two room and cross or through passage arrangement. The larger left hand room is heated by a rear lateral stack and it is uncertain if the small right hand room is heated. Exterior: Two storeys. Ground slopes down to left. The lower left hand side elevation is symmetrical with two probably C20 2-light casements on ground floor and moulded string course above; to right and left the corners are chamfered corbelling out with ogee stops forming the echinus of a capital with moulded abacus above. C20 2-light casement on first floor in gable end. The asymmetrical front elevation has an entrance to right of centre with C20 door and moulded cornice above on decorated corbelled brackets. Two light casement to right and far left and on first-floor to right. Interior: Not inspected.
