ST ISSEY ST ISSEY SW 97 SW 4/230 Monument 15 metres to north west Church of St Ida

GV II

Churchyard monument. Circa 1860s or 1870s, possibly contemporary with the restoration of the Church of St Ida (qv) in 1870-71 by J.P. St Aubyn. Granite. Monument stands on a rusticated granite square plinth. Comprises a moulded column on a tall moulded base which is stepped and decorated by scrolled stops at the corners. The column is surmounted by a flower-like motif; the shaft forming the stem to a trefoil flower which is pierced by 3 cusped trefoils and has short curling leaves at its base.
