Description

This is a churchyard monument located 15 metres to the northwest of the Church of St Ida in St Issey, dating from the 1860s or 1870s. It may have been created around the same time as the church's restoration by J.P. St Aubyn in 1870-71. The monument is made of granite and stands on a rusticated granite square plinth. It features a moulded column on a tall, stepped base that is decorated with scrolled stops at the corners. At the top of the column is a flower-like motif, with the shaft representing the stem of a trefoil flower that is pierced by three cusped trefoils and has short curling leaves at its base.
