Description

This is a small house located about 50 metres south-south-west of Boscawen Rose Farmhouse, likely built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with later extensions in the 19th century. The structure is made of granite rubble with a dressed granite front and features a slurried scantle slate roof with gabled ends. The end stacks are made of dressed granite, with the left-hand stack being larger.

The house has a two-room plan with a central entrance, where each room is heated by a gable end stack; the left-hand room is probably the kitchen. At the back, there is a later 19th-century single-storey outshut, and an outbuilding from the 19th century is attached at right angles to the left-hand end. Additionally, a small 20th-century outbuilding is attached to the right-hand end.

The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window south front. On the first floor, there are three late 19th-century four-pane sash windows arranged symmetrically. The ground floor has a less symmetrical arrangement, with a large late 19th-century six-pane sash window to the left and a late 19th-century two-light casement window to the right, both with glazing bars. The central doorway has a 19th-century plank door. All ground floor openings have granite lintels; the lintel above the left-hand window is chamfered and may be made from earlier reused material. There is a gable-ended outbuilding projecting from the left-hand end, and at the rear, the single-storey outshut has a grouted scantle slate roof. The interior was not inspected.
