Description

This is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which was remodeled in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a granite ashlar front and gable ends, with rubble at the rear. The roof, made of grouted scantle slate, dates from the late 19th century and has projecting eaves at the front, sweeping lower at the rear. The gable ends originally had granite copings and joinery, although the roof structure has not been inspected.

The farmhouse was remodeled in 1987. Originally, it had a double-depth plan with an integral outshut at the rear that contained two small service rooms. The left side has a slightly wider hall/kitchen with an original 17th-century fireplace, which was remodeled in the 18th century to include a bread oven. The right side features a parlour, with an entryway between that leads to a staircase situated between the rear rooms.

The exterior is two storeys high and nearly symmetrical, with a three-window front and a doorway that is central to the fenestration. The door and windows are from the 20th century but are set within 18th-century openings. Inside, there is a 17th-century (or possibly late 16th-century) hollow chamfered fireplace, with the left-hand jamb rebuilt in the 18th century when the oven was inserted. The interior also features 20th-century carpentry.
