Description
This is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and dressed granite gables. It has a corrugated asbestos roof and dressed granite chimneys on granite coped gable ends. The building has a double depth plan featuring two rooms at the front: a slightly wider kitchen living room on the left and a parlour on the right, with a former cross passage and two staircases leading to two shallow service rooms.
The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical two-window south-east front, with a doorway centrally located in relation to the windows. The first floor windows are grouped closer together. Above the doorway is a reused 17th-century chamfered lintel, and there are old stone buttresses on either side of the doorway. The door is an old ledged type, while the windows are from the 20th century, although the original window and doorway openings remain.
Inside, the first floor has a 19th-century structure with moulded beams and a large granite fireplace in the left-hand room. The first floor and roof have not been inspected.
