Description

This is an inscribed stone located at Boskenna in St Buryan. It dates from the Pre-Conquest period and is a roughly-hewn granite monolith that lies horizontally on the ground. The top of the stone features incised decoration and an inscription in Latin, which possibly reads: EVOCATI E - A -. There are sockets cut at either end of the stone, likely intended for later use as a gate post or stile stone. This stone is also designated as Scheduled Ancient Monument 797.
