Description
The gate piers, flanking walls, and adjoining stile located approximately 35 metres north of The Elms date from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from elvan ashlar and feature dressed wide chamfered copings. The granite monolithic gate piers have flat-topped pyramidal caps, which are similar to the caps on the terminal piers. The wide gateway is framed by square-on-plan piers and is flanked by quadrant-on-plan walls that also have square-on-plan terminal piers. There is a grid stile adjoining on the left.
