Description
The gate piers and flanking walls in front of Elmwood House and at the entrance to the farm date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of hammer-dressed stone walls with ashlar piers and coping. The structure is aligned with the slope of the hill, featuring three steps with curved coping leading down to each lower level. The gate piers have channelled stonework and projecting square caps topped with ball finials. To the left, there are curved quadrant walls and simpler gate piers marking the entrance to the farmyard.
