Description

The building consists of a barn and an adjoining outbuilding, located approximately 40 meters north-north-east of Roskestal Farmhouse. The barn dates from the early 19th century, while the outbuilding is from the late 19th or early 20th century. The barn is faced with coursed granite that is almost ashlar, while the outbuilding features granite rubble and roughly dressed granite. Both structures have scantle slate roofs, with the barn having a half-hipped roof.

The overall plan is L-shaped. The rectangular barn includes a threshing floor and has a first-floor loading/winnowing doorway located to the right of the middle. There is a later lean-to at the rear of the barn, and a long single-storey structure, likely a shippon, adjoins the barn on the right and projects at the front.

The barn is two storeys high and retains its original unaltered elevations with original openings. It features an old ventilated ledged door, and the windows have 20th-century sheeting, possibly over older frames. The east-south-east front of the barn has a doorway to the right of the middle, with a loading doorway above it. There are small windows on both the left and right sides, and a small later first-floor window on the right, which is above an original blocked ventilator. The interior has not been inspected.
