Description
Rowe's Cottage is a pair of houses built in the early to mid 19th century. The front is made of dressed granite rubble that is roughly coursed, while the rest of the building is painted rubble. It has a scantle slate roof with brick chimneys located at the gable ends and over the cross party wall. The layout consists of a shallow double-depth plan, with each house likely featuring two rooms at the front, flanking an entrance hall that leads to a stair hall between two rear service rooms.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a total of four windows on the south-west front. Each house has a nearly symmetrical two-window front with a centrally located doorway. The left-hand house has a 19th-century four-panel door, while the right-hand house features a 19th-century six-panel door along with a half-height outer door. The original window openings contain hornless sashes with glazing bars, except for the 20th-century replacements on the front of the right-hand house.
The interior of only the right-hand house has been inspected, revealing original stairs, moulded ceiling beams, and panelled doors.
