Description
Cove Cottage is a former boathouse and fisherman's store, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features an asbestos slate roof, topped by a brick chimney on the right-hand gable. The building has a rectangular plan with a loft above what was likely the boathouse, and it is built into a bank at the front and on the left side.
The exterior consists of a single storey over a basement boathouse. The south-west front has two windows, with doorways positioned towards the left and right. On the left, there is a four-panel door with flush-beaded panels, while the right side features a 20th-century glazed door. The windows are 20th-century 12-pane horned sashes, but the original openings are preserved on all elevations. The right-hand end includes a wide doorway and two windows above. The rear has small ventilator windows for the basement and three small windows for the upper floor. A dressed granite string or ledge is located below the basement windows, likely intended to support cantilevered pilchard pressing beams. The interior has not been inspected.
