Description

This tomb chest, dating from 1774, commemorates Rebecca, the daughter of John and Rebecca Bond, and her brother William, both of whom died in that year. It is located 1 metre to the southwest of the north entrance to the churchyard of Egloshayle Church. The chest is constructed from stone rubble and is raised on two courses of bricks, topped with a rectangular slate lid. The inscriptions are in upper and lower case lettering with serifs and feature a decorative angel's head.
