Description
The Earl of St Vincent is a public house, likely built in the 18th century. It features a rendered and painted stone rubble and cob construction, topped with an asbestos slate and slate roof that has hipped ends, and brick stacks at the ends. The building has a front range with a double depth plan and a rear left wing comprising a two-room layout.
The exterior is two storeys high with a regular three-window front. It includes early 19th century hornless sash windows, an 18th century two-panel door located near the centre, a 16-pane sash window to the left, and a 19th century canted bay window to the right. On the first floor, there is a three over nine-pane sash window on the left, a 12-pane sash window in the centre, and a 16-pane sash window to the right. Additionally, there is a circa 20th century 12-pane sash window in the right-hand side wall.
Inside, the pub remains unaltered and unspoilt, featuring late 18th and 19th century timber partitions, 19th century ceiling beams, and some pub furniture, including at least one settle.
