Description

The headstone and tomb chest of Joan Kendell and John Blake are located 20 meters north of the north porch of the Church of St Breock. The headstone, dated 1802, commemorates Joan, the wife of Thomas Kendell, who died in that year, as well as her mother-in-law Mary, who also passed away in 1802. It is a rectangular slate headstone featuring inscriptions in both upper and lower case lettering with serifs. The tomb chest, dating from 1721, is dedicated to John Blake, who died in 1721, and his son John, who died in 1720. This chest is made of stone rubble and has a rectangular slate lid, with a marginal inscription also in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
