Description
This is a house located east of Polhaven, possibly remodeled in the early 18th century and again in the mid 19th century. It is built from rendered stone rubble with rendered quoins and has a slate roof with gabled ends. The right-hand gable end features a stone rubble chimney stack topped with a brick shaft. The house has a single-room plan with an entrance lobby and an extension at the rear, also with a single-room plan. It stands two storeys high with an attic.
The front of the house is asymmetrical and has been remodeled in the mid 19th century. The ground floor has steps leading down to an entrance on the left, which features a 4-panelled door. To the right, there is a 4-pane sash window. On the first floor, there is a 4-pane sash window above the ground floor window, and a 20th-century window with top lights above, which has a raking roof that breaks the eaves.
Inside, there is 19th-century joinery. The left partition on the ground floor, which separates this house from the passage of Polhaven, includes a possibly reused timber plank and muntin screen with a sole plate that may be moulded. The house is included for its group value.
