Description

This is an early 19th century milepost located on the A390 at Maudlin. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular shape with a half pyramidal head. The relief lettering on the left side reads "TORPOINT 16," while the right side states "LISKEARD ½ MILE TO THE CHURCH GATES."

Milestones like this one are important as they represent some of the few remaining physical markers of historical road use in the UK.
