Description
Wadham House is a house that has been converted into flats, originally built in 1830 and enlarged in 1843 for B.H. Lyne. The building features stucco on masonry and has a hipped slate roof with cast-iron gutters. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall. The symmetrical east entrance front has three windows and cill strings. The original hornless sash windows with glazing bars are present, including those in the blind bay on the left, except for the ground floor which is simply blind. The central doorway features a Vitruvian scroll detail above, a six-panel door, and a patterned rectangular fanlight within a mid-19th century glazed porch that also has original hornless sash windows with glazing bars. The south garden front has five bays, with alternate bays projecting forward and 20th-century windows. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
