Description

Two attached houses, probably dating from the 18th century and early 19th century, are situated on Church Street North in Liskeard. Number 11 underwent repair, during which stucco was removed, revealing a rubble construction with timber lintels. Number 9 has stucco, largely replaced with render. Both properties have asbestos slate roofs, with a steeper roof over number 11. This roof is constructed of rubble at its base, with a brick stack to the left and a slate-hung gable to the right. A central 20th-century dormer window is also present. The houses have a double-depth plan and comprise two storeys, with an additional attic space in number 11. The overall frontage presents a five-window range. Number 11 features late 19th-century four-pane sash windows. The window above the doorway has reeded stucco pilasters and remnants of a moulded entablature, with a four-panel top-glazed door set back within. Number 9 exhibits a nearly symmetrical three-window front, with 20th-century windows and a 20th-century glazed door within an original stucco doorway featuring reeded pilasters and a moulded entablature. The interiors were not inspected.
