4/87 Milestone 350m north east of Great - Tree

Milestone. Probably late C18. Painted granite rectangular post with rounded top. Black painted upper case lettering. 'TORPOINT II' Only letter 'TOR'and number '11' incised. Os maps 1907 and 1984 record milestone on site 'TORPOINT 14'. Documents relating to the Liskeard-Torpoint Turnpike Acts are deposited at Antony House, Torpoint, Cornwall, and are accessible through Cornwall Country Record Office.
