Description

The stables and pump, located 10 meters to the west of Morval House, were likely built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from stone rubble with a rendered front and feature a scantle slate roof with gable ends. The building has a rectangular plan, consisting of a slate roof that covers four standings and a separate tack room, with a hayloft situated above and a water pump near the entrance.

This single-storey structure includes a hayloft and has an asymmetrical two-window front. To the left of the center, there is a projecting two-storey gabled porch with a wide open entrance on the ground floor, which has niches in the inner walls, double plank doors, and a plank door leading to the loft in the gable end above. On either side of the porch, there are two probably 20th-century cross windows with glazing bars, set below dressed stone segmental arches. The tack room is located to the right, featuring a plank stable door with a glazed fanlight above.

To the left of the entrance, there is a 19th-century water pump with brass taps. Inside, the stables have a cobbled floor and high-quality fittings, including a wooden arcade with elliptical arched openings to the stalls and a loose box at the left-hand end, which has curved timber partitions, well-designed mangers, and hay racks. The separate timber panelled tack room is situated on the right.
