Description
The granary located approximately 10 metres north-west of Roskennals Mill dates from the early 19th century and was later extended to include a cartshed and loft in the late 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a grouted scantle slate half-hipped roof. The building has a rectangular plan, with the granary situated over stables and a cartshed bay added to the left side during the 19th century. There are granite steps leading up to a rear loading doorway.
The exterior consists of two storeys and has an overall three-window front facing south-east. The original two-window front on the right includes two ground floor doorways and two small first floor windows, along with a first floor loading doorway at the right-hand end and another at the rear. The cartshed bay on the left features a wide doorway on its right, a loading doorway, and a small window above. The building has some old ledged doors and 20th-century windows in old or original openings. The interior has not been inspected.
