Description

ST BURYAN LOWER ALSIA SW 32 NE 4/105 Granary with cartshed at - approximately 30 metres north west of Alsia Mill GV II Granary. Circa late C18, slightly heightened in the C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roof with gable ends. Plan: Rectangular plan granary built into the bank at rear and on the right and with opposing first floor loading/winnowing doorways towards the left. Stone ramp up to rear doorway. Exterior: 2 storeys (granary loft over waggon basement). North-east front has wide ogee shouldered doorways, later or enlarged slit window on the right; first floor loading doorway towards the left and original slit ventilator towards the right. Rear has original loading doorway and slit ventilator. There is a large C20 window at the right-hand end. Interior: Simple painted interior has old first floor structure and C19 roof structure.
