Description
The Holy Well and gates are a structure from the 18th century or early 19th century, located on an ancient site. Made of granite rubble, the well features a rectangular roofed chamber built into the hillside over a natural spring. There is a drain leading from the well, next to the adjoining hedge, which has some remnants of a granite kerb. The well chamber is a simple design, covered with unhewn granite lintels. It is enclosed from the field by two diagonally-braced wrought-iron gates, which date from the late 19th century or early 20th century.
