Description

The Thomas chest tomb, located approximately 3 metres south of the porch of the Church of St Paul, is a chest tomb from the 18th century. It commemorates James Thomas, son of James and Mary Thomas, who died in 1766 at the age of 42. The tomb is made of dressed granite and features an incised slate inset on the south side. It has a rectangular shape, with a chamfered plinth, plain ashlar sides, and a chamfered cornice leading to a square-edged lid.
