Description
The gate piers and gates located south of the Church of St Paul date from the early 19th century. They consist of dressed coursed granite piers that flank a deep entrance, which may have originally been a grid stile, now replaced with granite flags. The piers feature square-edged copings. The gates are made of wrought iron and include roundels on the lock rails and a ramped top rail. Additionally, there is a pivoted bar with a twist detail attached to the west pier.
