Description
The Rogers chest tomb, located east of the south aisle of the Church of St Paul in Ludgvan, is a Grade II listed structure. This chest tomb features an integral headstone and commemorates John Rogers of Treassowe and Penrose, who lived from 1750 to 1832, and his widow Margaret, who died in 1842. The tomb is rectangular in shape and constructed from dressed granite, with a pedimented headstone at the eastern end. It has a moulded lid and a moulded border surrounding the incised inset plaque attached to the headstone. There are marble slabs on the sides of the chest, which are currently loose. John Rogers is likely the member of the Rogers family associated with the construction of Rogers' Tower.
