Description

LUDGVAN LUDGVAN CHURCHTOWN SW 53 SW 8/44 Medbury chest tombs east of Church - of St Paul GV II 2 chest tombs. Circa 1800. South chest to Richard John Medbury of Bowgheer, died 1799, also Richard John, son of Captain Richard John and Grandson of Thomas John died 1810 aged 11 relict of Captain Richard John died 1800 aged 55. North chest to John Medbury Lieut. of Royal Invalids, Scilly, died 1800 aged 77; George John, son of Captain Richard John of Marazion, died 1801, aged 4, and Margaret Medbury, died 1819 aged 71. Both chests are granite ashlar with projecting square-edged lids with inscribed slate inserts. Rectangular-on-plan.
