6/30 Range of farm buildings adjoining - south west of Lower Bosvarren Farmhouse
GV II
Range of farm buildings including shippons, cattle shelters and stables with haylofts and barn above. Circa mid C19. Granite rubble with dressed granite quoins and lintels. The barn at the left hand end has a grouted scantle slate hipped roof with red clay ridge tiles; the shippons and hay lofts have corrugated asbestos roofs. Plan: A long range on a curved plan continued from the rear wing of Bosvarren farmhouse qv, around a farmyard. The right hand range adjoining the house is integral with its rear wing and has shippons on the ground floor with lofts above. The integral barn at the left hand end has a slightly higher roof level and has a cattle shelter and stable on the ground floor and a barn above which has access via a doorway in the left end where the ground level is higher. Exterior: 2-storeys. Long range with a row of 6 shippon doorways (2 blocked) with granite lintels and a loft doorway to the left and 2 smaller loft windows or hatches to the right. At the left end the wide opening to the cattle shelter has a large granite lintel, a loading door above and a stable door to the left. In the left end wall where the ground level is higher there is a first floor doorway to the barn. Interior: Not inspected.
