Description
This is a range of farm buildings located southwest of Lower Bosvarren Farmhouse, dating from around the mid-19th century. The buildings include shippons, cattle shelters, and stables with haylofts and a barn above. They are constructed from granite rubble with dressed granite quoins and lintels. The barn at the left end features a grouted scantle slate hipped roof with red clay ridge tiles, while the shippons and haylofts have corrugated asbestos roofs.
The layout consists of a long range on a curved plan that extends from the rear wing of the farmhouse around a farmyard. The right-hand range is integrated with the farmhouse's rear wing and contains shippons on the ground floor with lofts above. The barn at the left end has a slightly higher roof and includes a cattle shelter and stable on the ground floor, with access to the barn above through a doorway on the left end where the ground level is higher.
The exterior is two-storeys high and features a long range with six shippon doorways (two of which are blocked), granite lintels, a loft doorway to the left, and two smaller loft windows or hatches to the right. At the left end, there is a wide opening to the cattle shelter with a large granite lintel, a loading door above, and a stable door to the left. Additionally, there is a first-floor doorway to the barn in the left end wall where the ground level is higher. The interior has not been inspected.
