6/14 Wash house and store immediately - north of Bosvathick Farmhouse

GV II

Wash house and adjoining store. Late C19. Granite rubble with dressed granite quoins and lintels. Slate roof with black glazed ridge tiles. Axial red brick stack to right of centre with chamfered corners and projecting brick cornice courses. Plan: Rectangular on plan facing the back yard of Bosvathick Farmhouse qv. with the wash house to the left with a front doorway and a large back doorway onto the farmyard. Small room to right may have been a coal-house and has a doorway on the front. Exterior: Single storey. The front facing the back yard has a doorway on the extreme left with a plank door and to its right a late C19 horizontally pivotting 9- pane window with a slate cill. Similar doorway to the coal-house to the right of the front with a plank door. At the back facing the farm yard a wide doorway to the right with plank double doors. Interior: The wash house has a large fireplace with a granite lintel and the room is open to the roof. Part of a remarkably complete and unaltered late C19 farmstead built on the small Bosvathick estate.
