Description
The building is a wash house and adjoining store, constructed in the late 19th century. It is made of granite rubble, featuring dressed granite quoins and lintels, and has a slate roof with black glazed ridge tiles. There is a red brick stack with chamfered corners and projecting brick cornice courses located to the right of the center. The structure is rectangular in shape and faces the back yard of Bosvathick Farmhouse, with the wash house on the left side, which includes a front doorway and a large back doorway leading to the farmyard.
The exterior is single-storey. On the front side facing the back yard, there is a doorway on the far left with a plank door, and to its right, a late 19th-century horizontally pivoting 9-pane window with a slate sill. There is a similar doorway for the coal-house to the right of the front, also featuring a plank door. At the back, facing the farmyard, there is a wide doorway to the right with plank double doors.
Inside, the wash house contains a large fireplace with a granite lintel, and the room is open to the roof. This building is part of a remarkably complete and unaltered late 19th-century farmstead located on the small Bosvathick estate.
