Description
Boskenna Farmhouse, including the rear garden walls and adjoining cartshed, is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of roughly coursed granite rubble with granite dressings and features a concrete tile half-hipped roof with brick chimneys on the side walls. The washhouse and cartshed have grouted scantle slate roofs, and there is a tall brick chimney on the rear gable end of the washhouse.
The farmhouse has a double-depth plan, likely consisting of two rooms at the front with an axial passage behind the left-hand room, and probably two service rooms flanking a stair hall at the rear. A single-storey washhouse is built at right angles behind the left side of the house.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front facing east-south-east, which does not have a doorway. It retains original 16-pane horned sash windows, and the rear also features original sashes. There is a porch located in the angle between the house and the washhouse. A rounded garden wall adjoins the rear gable end of the washhouse and has a doorway positioned approximately midway between the washhouse and the cartshed on its left. The cartshed includes a wide doorway in its west gable end on the left. The interiors have not been inspected.
