Description
This granary, located 50 meters northeast of Penpont Farmhouse, dates from the early to mid 19th century. It features a timber frame that is hung with slate and has a slate hipped pyramid roof. The building is almost square in shape and is supported by three rows of three granite staddle stones. There are entrances on the front and on the left-hand side, with a flight of stone rubble steps leading up to the left-hand entrance. Inside, the granary has timber posts that include slots for dividing boards, and it boasts an interesting roof construction.
