Description

This is a smithy, dating to the early 19th century, which has been converted into a craft shop. It is built of stone rubble, with a rag slate roof and gable ends. The building has a rectangular plan, with the forge originally situated against the rear wall. A small store is attached to the left-hand gable end.

The main range is single-storied and features a 20th-century 12-pane window and a plank stable-type door. The attached store has a lower roof, with shutters to an opening on the left and a wide plank door on the right.

Inside the smithy, a large brick fireplace is located on the rear wall. A Cornish stove, manufactured in this smithy, is known to survive.
