Description
Chapel Amble Methodist Church is a Methodist chapel, formerly known as the United Methodist Chapel, which opened in 1840. It is built of stone rubble with brick dressings and features slate hung on the north, south, and west elevations. The chapel has a slate roof with gable ends and a rectangular plan, with the entrance located in the east gable end. Each side and the front elevations have two 2-centred arched window openings with intersecting glazing bars, which have been partly replaced. The central entrance features a pair of 19th-century plank doors set in 2-centred arched openings. The interior is simple but complete, with pitch pine furnishings and a rostrum at the west end. This chapel was erected by the Association Methodists in the corner of Jane Hewit's garden, while their former chapel was converted into a Sunday School.
