Store And Garage 105 Metres To North Of Newton Ferrers House

This building, located 105 meters north of Newton Ferrers House, is possibly a former blacksmith's shop with stables at the back. It is now used as a store and garage and likely dates from the early 18th century. The structure is made of stone rubble and has a slate roof, featuring a gable end on the north side and a half-hipped end on the east. The north side is covered with corrugated iron. The building has a 'T' shape plan, with the main range extending from south to north and a short projecting wing on the east. It is a single storey with a loft. The south gable end serves as a backdrop for a statue of a nymph located 100 meters to the north. The gable has parapet coping and ball-finials at the eaves. There is a plank door on the east elevation, and the eastern wing has a two-light window on the ground floor with a timber lintel. An extension at the rear features double doors and 20th-century sliding doors on the west side. Inside, there is a simple fireplace with a dressed stone arch, but the interior has been altered with the upper floor removed and the roof structure replaced.
