Description

The Forge is a mid-18th century building that served as a forge. It is constructed of rubble with roughly-cut dressings and features a pantile roof, which has two courses of stone slates at the front eaves, along with brick stacks. The building is single storey and consists of four bays. The third bay contains a stable door flanked by blacksmiths' windows, all set in irregular stone surrounds. There is a similar window on the far left with a wedge lintel. The left gable is coped, and there is a banded end stack. The left side of the building shows two similar windows. At the rear, there is a large rectangular lateral stock that has been rebuilt on its old base.
