Barn 25 Metres To North East Of Roscarrock

This barn, located 25 meters to the northeast of Roscarrock, dates from around the 18th century, with possible earlier origins from the 17th century in its rear wing. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins and features a rag slate roof that has half hipped ends, while the rear wing has a gable end. The front range has a rectangular plan and its entrances have likely been altered over time. The rear wing on the right may be older and includes large opposing threshing doors. The front elevation, facing southwest towards Roscarrock, has three openings from the 19th century and three narrow slit openings that are splayed on the interior. The left side wall has a row of pigeon holes below the eaves. Inside, the roofs have mostly been replaced in the 19th century and the partitions have been altered. This barn is significant for its group value within the picturesque farmyard of Roscarrock.
