Description
This farm building, located 10 metres northeast of Upton Barton, likely dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, with corrugated asbestos covering the upper part of the front. The roof is made of rag slate and has hipped ends.
The building has an overall rectangular plan, likely serving as a stable on the ground floor with a loft above. It features a symmetrical front elevation with a central entrance that has a plank door, flanked by two early 20th-century two-light casement windows. The first floor is clad in corrugated asbestos and may have originally been open-fronted or timber framed. There is also a central 19th-century plank door. On the left-hand end, there is a lean-to outshut that includes a 20th-century garage door on the ground floor and a loft opening above. The interior has not been inspected.
