Description
Tregea Manor is a house dating from the early 19th century, which has been altered over time. The building is rendered, likely on a base of killas rubble, and features some granite dressings, topped with a slurried slate roof. It has a square plan with various additions at the rear and stands two storeys tall. The corners are accentuated by channelled clasping pilasters.
The south facade has two bays and includes a coved niche at the center of the ground floor, flanked by round-headed French windows that have glazing bars and fanlights with Gothick two-centred arched tracery. Above these, there are two 2-light top-hung casements, also with glazing bars. The roof is pyramidal with a shallow pitch, prominent eaves, and tall chimneys on the sides and rear. Notably, there is a low square lantern at the apex, which suggests it was used for functional purposes, possibly as a lookout to the sea rather than for leisure.
On the right-hand return wall, there is a round-headed doorway in the center, a flat-roofed rectangular bay window to the right featuring a 12-pane sash window at the front and narrow 4-pane sashes on the sides, along with a 12-pane sashed window above. Inside, the doors have reeded architraves, and there is a dog-legged staircase with an open string, stick balusters, and a wreathed curtail.
