Description
St Nun's Well, located approximately 220 meters north-west of Rosteague House, is a well head that may have been a holy well. It likely has a medieval core and features a reused 16th to 17th century doorway lintel. The structure is made of slatestone rubble with a granite doorway, and it has a semi-circular domed inner structure with a corbelled roof. The doorway on the south-west side has rough granite jambs and a nearly four-centred arch with a chamfered lintel and spandrel recesses. A steep, wide, stepped path known as Donkey Steps leads from the well to the house.
