Description

This range of barns, located about 60 metres west of Bodrogan Farmhouse, likely dates back to the 17th century, with additions from the 18th and 19th centuries, and some alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is built of slatestone rubble. The main range features a scantle slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, while the barn on the right has a corrugated asbestos roof. The front wing on the left has an asbestos slate roof that is half-hipped at the front.

The barns consist of three main sections. On the right, there is a rectangular barn, likely of 17th-century origin, which was probably originally used for threshing. The central range serves as a cart shed and threshing barn, likely built in the 18th century. The left end features a projecting wing, probably from the 19th century, containing open-fronted cart sheds.

In terms of exterior details, the barn on the right has three buttresses on the front and ventilation slits, with a single doorway at ground level and a ventilation slit at loft level. The central range is a lower two-storey building that includes a large midstrey with a hipped roof and a double doorway to the right, along with ventilation slits along the front and a cart entry with a buttress to the left. There is also a single-storey lean-to to the right of the midstrey. The rear of this range has a cart entry that faces the front entrance, along with additional ventilation slits. Attached to the front left is a lower range of open-fronted sheds, supported by plain cast iron piers, with two window openings at the upper level. The interior is not accessible.
