Description

The Old Vestry, located approximately 35 metres east of the Church of St Phillack, is a former vestry dating from the early 19th century. It features coursed copper slag block walls with granite lintels above the openings and a half-hipped concrete tile roof. The building has a rectangular plan with a room over a basement that is built into the churchyard at the rear (north) side.

The exterior is two storeys high with a south front that has two windows. There is a doorway to the basement on the left side of the middle, with a window to its right. The vestry has an old ledged door and some blocked window openings. The wall extends towards the churchyard gateway on the left and forms one side of an otherwise open lean-to porch that leads to the vestry doorway in the left-hand wall. The original door is a four-panel design, while the right-hand end features a wide window opening with a 20th-century tripartite sash. The interior has not been inspected.
