ALTARNUN ALTARNUN SX 28 SW 4/72 Phylroy and house adjoining on - right

GV II

Pair of cottages. Circa early C19. Stone rubble with granite dressings. Slate roof with gable ends. Central stone rubble axial stack. Plan: Pair of mirror image two room and cross or through passage plan cottages, each with a heated room, sharing the central axial stack and an outer unheated room. Exterior: Two storeys. Symmetrical 4-window front, the 2-light casements renewed in the C20. Each cottage has a central C20 door flanked by 2 casements with two casements on the first floor. The granite lintels above the ground floor openings have been continued to form a flat string band. Interior: Not inspected.
