Description

Phylroy and the house adjoining on the right are a pair of cottages built around the early 19th century. They are constructed from stone rubble with granite dressings and feature a slate roof with gable ends. A central stone rubble axial stack serves both cottages. The layout consists of two mirror image cottages, each having two rooms and a cross or through passage plan. Each cottage includes a heated room and shares the central axial stack, with an outer unheated room.

The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical four-window front. The windows are two-light casements that were renewed in the 20th century. Each cottage has a central 20th-century door flanked by two casements, with two additional casements on the first floor. The granite lintels above the ground floor openings extend to create a flat string band. The interior has not been inspected.
