Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is located at SX 041688. It is a granite monolith with a rounded head, standing about one metre high. The milestone is painted and features carved painted lettering in upper case without serifs, indicating "2B" for Bodmin, along with a benchmark at the base. It was established under the Turnpike Act for roads leading into Bodmin in 1769.
