Description
Lane End Farmhouse is a detached house that dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century, possibly representing a remodelling of an earlier structure. The building is constructed of rubble, rendered on the front, with some cob at the upper level at the back, and features a scantle slate roof with a clay ridge and brick gable stacks.
The layout consists of two rooms and a cross passage, both of which are heated, with a 19th-century lean-to outshot on the left side. The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical two-window front. It has a 19th-century plank door with a slate pent hood, flanked by two-light 12-pane casements. On the first floor, there are two centre-hung wood casements with horizontal glazing bars. The rear elevation is completely plain. The interior has not been inspected.
