Description
The fountain, located to the south of Pencarrow House, is possibly from the late 19th century. It is made of stone ashlar and stands in the middle of a shallow pool that has a low granite-coped surround featuring an ornate pattern. The design of the fountain is reminiscent of 17th century Italianate baroque style, featuring a stepped base with a circular basin supported by a central pier and four attached caryatid figures. This fountain serves as the focal point of the formal terraced lawns situated to the south of Pencarrow House.
