Description

This is a headstone for Oliver Cortice, located about 3 metres east of the south aisle of the Church of St Paternus in South Petherwin. It dates from 1795 and is made of slate, featuring a shouldered round head. The inscription on the front is carved in both upper and lower case with serifs and includes ornate initial letters, along with a verse below. The headstone is signed by J Bender at the base.
