Description

The Norman pier, located immediately west of the north porch of the Church of St Paternus in South Petherwin, is a re-erected structure from the Norman period. It is made of ashlar and features the top section of a large round pier with a carved scalloped capital. Additionally, pieces of tracery and other carved stone have been collected around the base of the pier.
