Description

This is a headstone dedicated to Richard Oliver, located about 12 metres south-west of the south porch of the Church of St Paternus in South Petherwin. The headstone dates from 1783 and is made of slate, featuring a shouldered round arch at the top. The front of the headstone is carved with an inscription in both upper and lower case letters, including ornate initial letters and a verse. The base of the headstone is signed by G Hender. Richard Oliver was the husband of Susanna Oliver.
